Do you value the riding and recreation in Port Angeles, WA?

The Department of Natural Resources is conducting a survey to collect public feedback for the recreation and conservation of DNR lands within the Elwha watershed. This includes many trails in the Port Angeles area, such as Dry Hill, Colville Trails, the Olympic Adventure Trail, and the Zoo Trails.  The process will determine whether certain zones within the watershed should be designated as DNR Natural Conservation Areas. These areas result in high standards for environmental protection and can significantly impact public access, potentially leading to the closure of mountain bike trails. 

Thank you to everyone who has already participated - during the last public meeting, DNR showed that recreation is the most popular use category in the survey so far. 

There will be a community meeting on November 9th to hear more about the results of the survey and next steps.
